One for The Boys

As a Mom of two teenage boys I'm always searching for scrapbooking papers that I can use to create pages for their albums, so when a box of Glitz product landed on my doorstep, I literally jumped with joy.

The Distressed Couture range from Glitz was just simply perfect for this photograph of my youngest boy, J.

To begin creating my page I machine stitched two sheets of the patterned paper together to form the base. Whilst my sewing machine was handy, I created a stitched frame around the photograph by machine stitching the photograph to the patterned paper photo mat.

One of my biggest fears is sticking something down only to decide 2 minutes later that it needs to go elsewhere!! By sticking the accent stickers to cardstock and then cutting them out means that I could move the accents around the page before finally securing things down! I used 3d foam pads to secure the title and heart accents to the page as this gave my page a greater sense of dimension.

Glitz produce amazing "Glitzers" page accents which I think are a fantastic embellishments to play with. I layered up one of the "Glitzers" with one of the accent stickers to create a funky scalloped heart accent for the page.
The black spotted background was created using one of Glitz "Polka Dot" rubons, which was applied to white cardstock before being adhered to the page. I used one of the bar code accent stickers to let my boy know how much I love him - he really does make me smile.

The black round "Teeny Alpha's" have to be one of my favourite teeny alphas ever - they are so versatile and are the perfect size for scrapbook pages, as well as adding text to cards or other paper crafting projects.
I used numerals from Glitz "Save the Date" stamps to create the number 14, as well as using the smaller stamps from the same set to create the date stamp - the photograph was taken on my boys 14th Birthday :D

To complete the page I added one of the Glitz Journaling stickers to the top right hand side of the page and embellished further using cardstock stickers, "Glitzers" and a little Glitz "Frosting".

MIA + RAK Winner

Congratulations to this LUCKY LADY as her name was chosen at random to be the winner of my recent Pencil Lines Sketch Book and Cosmo Cricket RAK - email me your address and I'll pop the book and Cosmo goodies in to the post to you on Tuesday morning :D

Thanks to everyone who took part in the RAK - I'm just sorry I couldn't send a little something to you all - but don't fear - I'll be announcing another RAK very soon :D

Ive been missing in action for the past week or so as Ive been very busy working with my Sister to get this little place transformed and prettified...

I'm really enjoying the process of renovating this 600 year cottage - which just happens to be next door to my house :D

The kitchen is almost done - I have a couple more pictures to paint and curtains to make - we have been working through til very late at night and are totally exhausted but the end result will be so worth all of our late night painting sessions.

Sometimes I wish I was 3 years old and could just fall asleep anywhere - me thinks it was just all too much for my wee nephew, who had had a very busy day counting the stepping stones in the garden whilst we painted the picket fence!!!

Scrapping wise Ive not had a lot of time to escape to my craft room - however I did mange to go play with some yummy stash from Mays Sponsor over at Pencil Lines.
I'll leave you with a sneak -

Have a great holiday weekend and thanks for dropping by.
